Register for the Fitness Walking - Winter

Fitness Walking is ideal for someone just getting started on their fitness journey or the person looking to increase their pace or distance. Participants should be comfortable being on their feet for at least a half hour. The 12-week Winter Fitness Walking program is offered once/week through the winter. The Fitness Walking program will help you gradually increase your walking volume and pace, while focusing on proper technique and a strong fundamental base. By the end of the program you will be prepared to walk a 5k distance.

The program meets for multiple one one-hour sessions each week. Participants also receive guidance on what to do on their own for days the group does not meet. A typical session will combine instruction on proper form, stretching and how to build endurance. No matter your starting point, you can gain fitness with this program. When you complete Fitness Walking you can choose to repeat it again, or, if you have moved to a new level of fitness and are setting time and improvement goals you may want to consider trying Running 101, which has a run/walk component.

The 2019-2020 winter program cost for a new participant in Fitness Walking is $145 for the 12-week session.  Returning participant cost (for returners from any previous PR Training program) is $115 for the 12-week session. This cost includes up to 12 weekday coached group sessions (we understand you may not be able to attend them all, but encourage all participants to commit to attending as many as possible!) New participants receive a commemorative program shirt, and ALL participants will be eligible for other giveaways.

This program is offered in BURKE, on Wednesday mornings from 9:30-10:30 AM. Additional sites may be added and session dates are subject to change.
